Great Rollright Village Hall Funding

Great Rollright Village Hall is a registered charity (No. 1037138) and serves the Great Rollright village offering a venue for a range of events such as exercise classes, entertainment and private hire events. The hall is funded by a combination of monies received from hiring the hall and donations.

To run the hall, the Village Hall Trustees, who are all volunteers, have to balance our income against the utility, insurance, maintenance and other costs. As costs have increased we have had to increase our charges to balance the books, but there are limits to what we can charge. Hence we are also reliant on the generous nature of our villagers to make donations or bequests.

How to make a donation?

The simplest way to make a donation is to arrange a one-off or regular transfer to our bank account with the reference including your name and the word “donation”. This enables the hall to claim Gift Aid on all donations which provides an uplift of 25% on each donation.

The Village Hall Bank Account is an HSBC account with the sort code 40-17-19 and account number 20401099.

Give-As-You-Live

The hall is now registered with “Give as you Live” who’s website is https://www.giveasyoulive.com.
This organisation has tied up with some 4000 ON-LINE retailers who, when asked, donate a small percentage of their sales to charities specified by the shoppers. If all of you, who shop on-line with the participating retailers,  tell “Give as you Live” to direct this small percentage (often only 1% but 'every little helps') to Great Rollright Village Hall. The more of you do this, the more money we'll raise for our Village Hall.
 

It is very simple: log on to

and follow the very  easy to follow instructions. You don't even have to remember when you actually shop, as if you tell “Give as you Live” of your chosen retailers (again you do this by following the instructions on their web-site) as soon as you log on to shop a message will pop up asking you to confirm that you want to raise money for GRVH.

How fiendishly clever the web can be!!

The good news is that it costs you nothing and makes no difference to the prices you pay or the service you get from you favourite retailers. This sounds to me like a WIN,WIN,WIN situation for us all. I attach a document (pdf) which lists eight of the retailers who you might use.
